We had previously spoken about Dopo, the Italian restaurant in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine) opened by the hosts of RMC's After Foot. This time, we returned to quai Georges Gorse for a specific reason: to test the Sunday brunch à volonté, and we left well-fed… The location is striking for its dimensions. The indoor room, with its beautiful semi-industrial space and tree planted in the center, can accommodate up to 110 people. On the terrace, the two spaces that flank the room in an angle increase the capacity to 200 people. It's big, it's airy, and yet, during our visit, the service was running at full capacity. Several people were refused entry due to lack of reservation. Let's be clear: book in advance, it's essential. The Sunday buffet is available every Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm, for 30 euros per person (15 euros for children). On the table, everything that Italian cuisine does well: salads, antipasti, arancinis, fusilli with pistachio, lasagna with ricotta and spinach, homemade pizzas. Smoked burrata and truffle pasta are part of the buffet's main pieces, and they're worth the detour on their own. A table is specifically set up to accommodate sliced pizzas. We can thus taste everything, from the 4-cheese pizza to the truffle pizza, passing through the ham and mushroom pizza. The only drawback is that they cool down quickly and the cheese, so don't linger too long to catch them still hot. The Neapolitan pizzas are signed by Yoann Pasquale Mormile, executive chef and world champion of the discipline in 2023. We're not surprised that the dough is well-worked, with a beautiful texture and a mastered cooking. For dessert, a selection of desserts is offered, including tiramisu, fresh fruit salad, cannolis, and Sicilian beignets, served hot. The latter, much lighter than churros, are easily devoured. Honestly, for 30 euros à volonté with this level of quality, the answer is yes. It's not the smoothie and avocado toast brunch you find everywhere else. Here, we eat Italian, generous, and well-cooked, in a refined setting just a stone's throw from the Seine musicale. It's clearly a format that addresses Italian cuisine enthusiasts who want to enjoy themselves without constraint, in family or among friends, without having to monitor the menu at each dish. To accompany the meal, the cocktail menu is also worth a look. Five spritz are offered, including a fresh amaro and peach spritz, and classic cocktails like the Manhattan are well-executed, at 12 euros. Dopo is located at 63-64 quai Georges Gorse, in Boulogne-Billancourt, just a few minutes' walk from the Seine Musicale. The Sunday brunch is held from 10 am to 6 pm, only by reservation, to be found directly on the site or by phone. In search of more ideas?
